Resident Evil 2 (2019) is not a Crash Bandicoot N'Sane Trilogy (Performance Review Link) kind of remake. Yes, you could rebuild the original game and crank the graphics to 11, but Capcom thought that today's gamers deserved better. The original Resident Evil 2 released back in 1998 on the original PlayStation, finding enough success on the platform to receive an enhanced "Dual Shock" version on its original platform as well as ports to other consoles such as the Nintendo 64, the SEGA Dreamcast and Gamecube.Ī lot has changed in 20 years, so much so that a simple remake wouldn't do the series justice.
